Short-Term Running Goals:

It's been a challenging year so far since Boston 2011.  When I got home from Boston my world changed when I found out I had some pretty severe food allergies. Since being tested I have been focused on building my health back up which has been a long slow process. What a difference it's made and I feel extremely blessed. For years I knew something was wrong and it's amazing to finally know that food can actually be a persons medicine to live a healthy life. 

Long-Term Running Goals:

I'm hoping to start building more miles when I can and be injury free.  Maybe one of these days I'll be fast. Just for now I'm just very happy to be running.

Personal:

Happily married to Marlin Ordway. We've got 4 grown children between the two of us.  It's been fun watching them go through life - making mistakes and picking themselves back up.  I love seeming them happy and succeeding.

I have two days off this week since I worked the weekend.  I like these days because I can sleep in alittle and not be so rushed.  Love hanging out at home alittle bit before getting started on the day.   I decided to run outside today.  It wasn't to bad because it wasn't THAT cold.  I did a few laps around the river.  And, that wasn't to bad except the last loop was alittle bit more windy when I was running north.  I was still happy to be running outside.  I'm sure this will end up soon looking at the weather coming!

I enjoyed my workout today at the gym.  Ran 7 miles and then some weights and stretching.  I guess that's the benefit of going to the gym rather than running outside.  Kinda nice doing other stuff!

Went to the gym this morning. Ended up running 7.5 miles and just had a minute to do some core.  The last couple of days I've been pretty happy with my runs.  Today at work was alittle hectic.  Glad tomorrows Friday.

Wish I could get up just alittle bit earlier.  I've gotten pretty used to sleeping until 5:30am.  Ran at the gym for 7.5 miles.  If I had more time I would have done a couple of other things.  But, decided to try and get to work alittle earlier.  The good thing lately is I feel alittle stronger than I have for awhile.  It's nice not being as tired at the end of my run.    Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Went to the gym this morning. I was glad I got there alittle earlier than normal for a Sat. Had planned on running just the usual run, but talked myself into running 10.  I wanted just a few extra miles for the week. I've been slacking when it comes to the miles for week.  Felt pretty good throughout the whole run.  Afterwards I went and did a few weights and then stretched. I was glad to get a good workout in to finish out the week. The nice thing about finishing when I did is I met someone I had seen in the TOU marathon.  I had asked if she'd run it and when we got to talking she said she's run 29 marathons.  It was great meeting someone else and hopefully she and I will get together and run.  She's going to Boston also!

Went to the gym earlier this morning.  Once I got out of bed it wasn't to bad.  Ran 8.5 miles and then had time to stretch.  And, had more time to get ready for work. Kinda nice not being in such a hurry.  Work was all right.  Our client Sony is in town for the next few days to show our agents some upcoming things coming out before the holidays.  I'll be glad when they're done hiring.  Makes my job pretty hectic every week.

Didn't want to wake up quite as early as yesterday. But, I still made it to the gym before 6am, so I was happy.  Ran 8 miles.  Legs haven't been tired like they sometimes get.  Did a few stretches and then off to work.

Went to the seminar to hear Jeff and Gray talk about winter running.  Lots of good tips.  I'm wanting to run more outside this winter and feel it's possible now.  I ran down around the river this morning and really enjoyed my run - even with it being 14 degrees.  I'm always amazed when I talk to someone who runs outside all year long.  With our warm gear on this morning Marlin and I almost didn't recognize each other morning.  It was pretty funny.  Good thing he yelled out my name.    Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Tried to be tough and brave the cold and wind this morning.  I was surprised how warm I was.  Actually over dressed.  But, really enjoyed myself.  The last couple of miles there was alittle bit more wind.  But, was happy to be outside.   Felt bad for Marlin because he hasn't been feeling well.  Hope it doesn't get to sick!

My best friend from high school and I have been keeping in touch more lately.  I remember lots of fun times causing trouble as a kid.  And, I remember the accident we were in where our car rolled 5 times.  We were in a voltswagon bug and a car crossed over into our lane as were driving into town.  We just kinda lost touch during college.  So, it's been great talking and seeing her more.  She's started running a few weeks ago!!!  Now, just need to get her talked into doing a race in the spring!

It was pretty cold this morning.  But, there was still a few of us out early.  I've noticed my pace is alittle slower.  I'm figuring it's due to it being so dark and so cold.  I was glad to be done by 7am.   Off to work for another day.

Made it to the gym early today.  Was pretty nice being done before 7am.  Since I needed to go back home before work I just ran 7.  Happy with pace.  First half of run was at 8:30 pace - second half at 7:53.   Off to work now!

Woke up early and went to the gym after just a few hours of sleep.  I was surprised to feel pretty good due to the lack of sleep.  It was nice seeing so many regulars at the gym so early.  I didn't expect that. After running, stopped by Sports Authority and broke down and bought a spin bike for at home. Marlin had seen it on sale.  It was fun meeting up with him at the running store.  They were making a breakfast.  It was so great running into Jeff, Kami and their kids.

Decided to run outside. The first few miles were kinda cool.  It was just my toes that got cold.  The remainder of the run wasn't to bad.  Ended up being a pretty good run.

Decided to go to the gym this morning.  Wanted to get a good run in and it was warmer. Didn't feel like runninaababaceg outside.  Ended up running 7 miles.  I was happy that I did a few intervals the last 3 miles.  Did a few stretches, weights and sauna afterwords.

Marlin woke me up earlier this morning.  Made it to the gym just alittle earlier.  Overall, it was a good run.  Alittle tired.  Once I got to 7 miles I knew I wanted to do just alittle bit more.  Ended up running 1 more mile.  Wanted to make sure and leave some time to stretch before heading home to get ready for work. 

Work ended up being pretty busy.  Ended up going into two different training classes to teach Quality.  It'll be nice when all the trainnings get done. We've been ramping up for the holidays and I think this was the last two classes or we have 1 or 2 more.  Dec. will be nice because I'm going to use about PTO that I can't carry over into next year.  So, I've got alittle over 40 hours to use up. 

Marlin leaves to run the Las Vegas Marathon tomorrow in the afternoon.  I had taken the time off to go, but, my parents are flying in tomorrow morning from Ariz.  I don't feel right about them getting here in the morning and me leaving that afternoon.  So, I'm not going on this LV this trip.  I'm excited for Marlin.  He'll do great.
