Short-Term Running Goals:

It's been a challenging year so far since Boston 2011.  When I got home from Boston my world changed when I found out I had some pretty severe food allergies. Since being tested I have been focused on building my health back up which has been a long slow process. What a difference it's made and I feel extremely blessed. For years I knew something was wrong and it's amazing to finally know that food can actually be a persons medicine to live a healthy life. 

Long-Term Running Goals:

I'm hoping to start building more miles when I can and be injury free.  Maybe one of these days I'll be fast. Just for now I'm just very happy to be running.

Personal:

Happily married to Marlin Ordway. We've got 4 grown children between the two of us.  It's been fun watching them go through life - making mistakes and picking themselves back up.  I love seeming them happy and succeeding.

Nice day at the gym today.  Imagine my shock coming up the stairs and seeing a row of awsome runners! Alitte intimating to say the least.  I headed up to the back top TM as I like them better than the ones below. It was great seeing everyone running in front of me. 

I never know what I'll do after my first hour.  Just go mile by mile. Ended up doing 15 on the TM.  Thought I'd stop at 12, but then decided what the heck just 3 more.  The last mile to mile and a half got tough that's for sure.  I appreciated that Jeff stopped by to say hello and let me know who everyone was. I'd seen all them all at the gym at different times before. Pretty amazing to see them all there at once.  Who knows maybe some dead I'll attempt another marathon.  It was a good day.

Went to the gym this morning.  Ran 8 on the TM. Felt better than I thought after yesterdays run.  The first 2 or so miles were tough. After that it went pretty well. Happy to do 8.

Went to the gym today.  Ran 7 miles.  It was tough.  I was tired, probably from the other day.  Glad to get through  it tho!

Well, I guess I'll enter my run today.  I seriously thought about not running today.  Even went home after work.  It was probably because it was a stressful day at work and cold outside.  Not that I was going to run outside but sure didn't feel like doing anything after work.  Decided to go ahead and go workout.  Once I got to the gym the run ended up not being to bad.  Did a few Fartleks in the run. The run was alot better than yesterdays so I was glad I went back into town.

After work I went home thinking I'd take today off.  The last two days I haven't felt like going to the gym after work. But, once I get home I end up changing my mind and going back into town.   Once I got to the gym I just did 6.5 miles on the TM. Tomorrow I'm just going to go!   I was somewhat tired but it got alittle better as time went on.

Another day on the TM.   Did the usual run of 7 miles.   I'm starting to think about switching things up alittle by doing more speed workouts.  I just keep running the 7 miles everyday.  Trying to figure out if I want to start running in the mornings. I've always like working out better in the morning. But, I like to make sure I have plenty of time in case I want a longer run that day.  Will probably run tomorrow and take Sat as my day off. My last day off was last Friday.

Got off of work early today.  I went back to work after yesterdays workout and worked until 8pm.  It was nice working out earlier today. Thought about taking the day off but decided maybe tomorrow. Last day off was last Friday.  I tried not watching tv on the TM today. Sometimes I don't like the distraction. Just watched the last mile or so. Pretty good run. Just alittle tired. Did some leg and arm weights after running.  Was happy with the workout overall.

Went to the gym today to run with my heart monitor.  Haven't used it in a LONG time.  My HR always runs high.   Ran on the lower level TM's and it was kinda nice. Usually they hurt my shins.  I ran at different speeds to see what the monitor would say.  By the end of the run I was at 7:53 miles and my HR was at 177/178.  After running me and my daughter Malory did some arm weights.  Was pretty happy with the workout. Tomorrow there is a crosstraining class I"m going to do at 6am.  I figure I'll run first and then go do the class.

Went to the gym early this morning!!!  It's been a long time since I've gone that early. I was holding off becasue I'd been worried I wouldn't have enough time to stay longer if I wanted a longer workout.  I tried it this morning because there was a cross training class that was at 6am.  So, I wanted to get a run in before the class. Ran 5 miles and then did the class.  It was pretty interesting.  We did a few cross training things and then rode the bike for 20 min & then ran 1mile. I'm going to really and try and give it a fair chance.  But, I will still run before the class.  I expected more girls to be there.  There was only 2 of us! And, I think there was 7 guys.  Overall, it was good because the instructor was female.  Thank goodness!

I liked getting my run done early in the morning.  I talked to my boss and he's fine with whenever I want to come in. Nice!  It'll be another early day tomorrow.

Another early day at the gym.  Pretty nice going and seeing everyone and I get to run with Marlin.  Getting up early is a pain but the trade offs are worth it. I've been doing alittle speed work out and I could sure feel it in my legs today.  I ran the normal 6 and actually got off to go do some weight. I ended up going back and running another 2.  I was still able to get to work by 7:30am.  Tomorrow is the cross training class again. So far I still plan on going.   Hopefully my legs feel better in the morning.

Went to the gym bright and early this morning.  Love going in the morning.  Except the first 5 min's waking up. My legs have been sore so did an easy run today.  Been putting in some speed work and am trying out the cross training class.  Makes me want to try some other classes. But, have to be able to get my run in first.   Legs are still sore so we'll see how tomorrow goes. It was great running with Marlin! Not many people there this morning.  But, it was great to see Jeff. I'm always impressed!  : )

Made it to the gym early today.  Legs were still alittle sore but overall ok.  Started at a 9:13 pace for the first couple of miles and then continued to bump it up until the end ended up at an 8:34 pace.  Just did a couple of arm weights afterwards.

Went to the gym early today. Wanted to get my run done so I didn't have to worry about it later.  Ran 15 on the TM. I started to get really tired around 12 miles. I should have kept my pace down more. Was glad to make it through the last 3 miles!  Went between a 8:49 and 8:34.  Marlin did great today.  He ran 20  on the TM.

Went to the gym when it opened today.  Didn't know how it'd feel after yesterday.  Ran 7.25 miles on the TM.  Kept it slow today.  Started at 9:22 - 9:13 and 8:57.  Felt pretty - better than I thought it would. My left hip is alittle sore.  Will see how it goes this week.

Early day at the gym this morning.  Didn't do the cross training class because I wanted to be at work by 7am.  Did an Interval training this morning.

6 x 600 - 8:20, 8:20, 8:20, 8:20, 8:13, 8:05 pace with 200 recovery's.  Incline .05.

Finished up with 2 mile making the run 7 miles.

Did an easy run at they gym this morning. Kept it at a 9:13 pace for 6 miles and then a quarter mile at 9:05.  Wanted to get to work by 7am.  Had a training for most of the day at the Hilton so wanted to try and get a few things done ahead of time. I'm liking the morning runs.

Early morning at the gym.  With a quick warm up ran the first 2 miles at 9:13 pace and then bumped it up to a MP.  Did 4.25 miles at 8:34. Quick potty & water break and then did another 1 1/5 miles at 8:34 & 1/2 at 8:22 pace. Finished with 2.25 miles at a 9:05 pace.  Did a few arm weights before getting ready for work. Felt like a good workout.

Easy run today at the gym.  Nothening to exciting.  Kept it at a 9:13 pace for 6.5 miles.  Did some stretching and leg exercises afterwards.  That part was nice!   Just 1 more day until the weekend!

I got off work early today.  Marlin and I went to SLC for a V02 Max test.  It was pretty interesting to do the test. But, it was so nice to learn where we stood.  The Treehouse Athletic Club was so nice!  Felt like I had been to a spa.  Wish we could have stayed longer.   On the way back to the hotel we went by an In & Out Burger.  We just had to eat there.   We hardly ever get to eat there and I love it.  Marlin was great letting me eat there. I think he likes it the same as I do.  

I'm really liking knowing my HR range.  I knew I had a high HR. But, now I know what pace I can do.  I've been doing to many of the same runs.  I need to do more slower runs and more speedwork both.  Marlin and I fell in the Superior range for our V02 which makes me happy.

Great day in Salt Lake today!  When Marlin and I got up we hung out at the hotel for alittle while.  Got alittle breakfast and then headed out to run. Since we checked out Liberty Park and Sugerhouse Park yesterday we decided to run Liberty Park.  Two great parks! It was a tough choice.  Really enjoyed the run.  When I started I wasn't sure what I'd do after the first hour. But, I was feeling pretty good so I kept going.  Was glad I did 15.  Felt pretty good.

It was an early Monday morning!  Not a ton of people at the gym at first but they started to roll in later on.  Did an easy run today. Kept my HR right around 160. Found it alittle hard to do at times.  Kept my pace at about 9:22.   Ended up doing 8.5 miles.

8 miles at the gym this morning. Been running by the windows up front to watch outside. Did 1 mile warmup and then 6x600 w/200 cool down.  Finished out with run making it 8 miles. HR 170 during repeats.

Easy run today for 8.5 miles. Tried to keep it easy. When I woke up I sure didn't feel like going to the gym.  Woke up 15 min late.  Need to get to bed earlier.  Hope not so tired tomorrow.

A better run today.  Been trying to keep my easy run days easy.  I was happy my HR didn't go above a 160 (pretty much).  Did just for a min. Not a bad day after yesterdays workout.  Had done some weights & stretching yesterday so felt pretty good today.
