Short-Term Running Goals:

It's been a challenging year so far since Boston 2011.  When I got home from Boston my world changed when I found out I had some pretty severe food allergies. Since being tested I have been focused on building my health back up which has been a long slow process. What a difference it's made and I feel extremely blessed. For years I knew something was wrong and it's amazing to finally know that food can actually be a persons medicine to live a healthy life. 

Long-Term Running Goals:

I'm hoping to start building more miles when I can and be injury free.  Maybe one of these days I'll be fast. Just for now I'm just very happy to be running.

Personal:

Happily married to Marlin Ordway. We've got 4 grown children between the two of us.  It's been fun watching them go through life - making mistakes and picking themselves back up.  I love seeming them happy and succeeding.

Ran early this morning before work.  Felt pretty good after taking yesterday off.

Not to bad of run today.  Did an extra mile and almost made me late for work!  But, felt pretty happy about doing alittle more today.

Felt alittle tired this morning waking up.  Once I got going the run wasn't to bad. Just had time to do 6 miles today.

I wasn't able to run yesterday because I needed to run my parents into the shuttle for Salt Lake.  This morning Ijust managed to run the usual 6.2.

Was glad it was Sat.  Ran 7 at first and then needed to stop by my sisters for a few minutes.  We have company from Boise and were headed up to Island Park later that morning.   After talking to her I went and 3 1/2 more making it 10.5.  Was glad I could get a good run in because I knew we'd be busy for the rest of the weekend.

Was so happy Marlin did well in the half marathon he did today.

Went into work early today so I could run after work today.  Ended up at Snake River Landing.  Went through Freeman Park - to many people.  Went by the river - to many people.   Overall it was an ok run.  Alittle warmer with some wind - more than I wanted.

Ran up at the cabin this afternoon.   My watch stopped working shortly after I'd started the run. Ran up past Lakeside Lodge. Pretty warm since it was in the afternoon. But, it was nice.   I like running this route because there's some good inclines and hills.   Love getting up to the top.   Lots of boaters and 4-wheelers out! Good run.

I have got to find more time to add my post!   Got up alittle early this morning and ran 7.  Wish I could get up early every morning.  I had ended up taking yesterday due to a funeral.  So, todays run felt pretty good!

Went into work today at 5am and worked until about 10:30am.   My son's in town and I wanted to spend most of the day with him. After I left work I went to Freeman Park and ran 6.25.  It was great because they were watering and their was some shade. Kept it alittle cooler than if I went around the main river path. After my run I met up with my son and went to lunch.  He competes in moutain biking in So. Calif so I always like hearing the advice he gives me.  

Overall I had a pretty good run.  Just didn't like when it warmed up.

Long run this morning.  It was nice because it didn't get to hot.   Stuck around the river for the whole run. Very glad to start the week with some good miles.

Another day of 6.25 miles.  It was in the afternoon heat and it was a better run that I thought it would be.  It's been hectic doing morning runs now with work and my son visiting. But, I'm hoping things get back to normal.  

  I know I drive Marlin nuts with my running sometimes but I'm liking my running right now.  I haven't been doing speed work but I'm liking getting base miles in.  Best part of the day is when I'm out and get a good run in before work.

I had to go to work early today because I had a training all day at the Hilton. The green belt looked sooo nice.  Wish I could have been out on it running.  I think tomorrow if we have a long lunch again I'm going to figure out how to get a run in.   Today a few of us just went to lunch.  Maybe I'll ditch them and get a run in.  It doesn't make sense to them.

No run today.  Bummer!!!

Ran 7 miles this morning before heading up to Aston to see Marlin come in on the Mesa Falls Marathon.   It was great to see the runners come! 

I'm looking forward to running another race now.

Well, I didn''t get up this morning to run because it'd been raining.  When I went after work it was windy!  Wish I would have gotten up to go in the AM.   Was glad I did the 7.5 miles.  The wind coming out of the south was a pain but, overall was happy with my pace.  Going up the hills with the wind I got down to a 9.35 mile pace.  But, kept it at a 8:20 - 8:35 mile pace otherwise.   Good run even with the wind.

AM run:    I was glad I went out and ran this morning.  It was just alittle cool, but I was dressed for it.  Didn't get cold at all.   I was short on time but still managed to do 6.25 miles.

PM run:  After work I went to Freeman Park and ran 4 miles.   Did some Fartlek work.  I was tired by the time I finished.   Was very glad to get some good miles in today.  I'm understanding the reasons behind running twice a day.
