Short-Term Running Goals:

It's been a challenging year so far since Boston 2011.  When I got home from Boston my world changed when I found out I had some pretty severe food allergies. Since being tested I have been focused on building my health back up which has been a long slow process. What a difference it's made and I feel extremely blessed. For years I knew something was wrong and it's amazing to finally know that food can actually be a persons medicine to live a healthy life. 

Long-Term Running Goals:

I'm hoping to start building more miles when I can and be injury free.  Maybe one of these days I'll be fast. Just for now I'm just very happy to be running.

Personal:

Happily married to Marlin Ordway. We've got 4 grown children between the two of us.  It's been fun watching them go through life - making mistakes and picking themselves back up.  I love seeming them happy and succeeding.

Great run around the river with my sister this morning.  She's here for my parents 63rd wedding anniversary.  Usually the altitude gets to her but today she did great.  What a fun time having sister time.

Ended up going to the gym today.  So so windy outside.  Managed to do 14 miles.

Had a great time running the Boston 5K.  Marlin and I went down to the race early.  It was a fun thing to do.  Could not really race because there were so many people.  You just had to run what you could and try to avoid others right in front of you.  I felt like I was always trying to dodge people so I got on the grass whenever I could. Once I got back I eventually found Marlin.  It was so great Jeff and Kami had come down to the race.  We were then off to the expo.  Fun morning run!!!

The wind wasn't bad this morning so I went into town by the river before work.

Slept in just alittle.  Stopped by my parents house to see them real quick.  Ran down by river and SRL.   Had to stop since I had a hair appointment at 9:30am.  Legs have been tired I'm sure from the lack of running over the last week.

Have to say running in the wind sucks.  Overall todays run was alright. Started at the greenbelt and then headed over to Freeman Park.  Did a few loops there and went back to the river and over to SRL.  I started to get more tired there than anywhere.  Not sure if it was because of the wind or what it was. My training hasn't been very consistance so I'm sure I'm paying the price for it.  On my way home I noticed my right hip started hurting and I could feel it down my leg. Not quite sure what that's all about right now.

AM:  Rode the bike for 30 minutes

Lunch:  Stairmaster for 30 minutes. Stretched and core work.

Early morning run again. 7 miles around the river (as usual).  On my last lap I switched to my Hoka shoes.  I acutally liked them.  The first time I wore them I didn't like them very well. I'll start to wear them more and see how it goes.

Lunch - ran 3 miles on my lunch.  It was alittle warmer than I'm used to since I run so early.  Glad I stuck it out and did the 3 miles.
